IEEE 802.3cq
“Maintenance #13: Power over Ethernet over 2 pairs” is currently under development by the IEEE P802.3cq Power over Ethernet over 2 Pairs (Maintenance #13) Task Force and anticipated to publish in December, 2019. As PoE technology evolved to include Type 3 and Type 4, various editorial and technical issues in Clause 33 (Power over Ethernet over 2 Pairs) of IEEE Std 802.3-2018 were identified. The addition of clarifying text on the Power Interface (PI), definitions for IPORT, VPD, and VPSE, new information on Maintain Power Signature (MPS), and other minor adjustments will improve the accuracy of this Clause.
No new features will be added by this project.
