IEEE 802.3cr
“Maintenance #14: Isolation” is currently under development by the IEEE P802.3cr Isolation (Maintenance #14) Task Force and anticipated to publish in November, 2020. The IEEE Std 802.3-2018 Standard includes requirements for electrical isolation between interface leads, frame grounds, cables, and other contact points. The current isolation test references, the IEC 60950 “Information Technology Equipment – Safety” series, have been replaced by the IEC 62368 “Audio/Video, Information and Communication Technology Equipment” series. This project will replace the references to the IEC 60950 series of standards with references to the IEC 62368 series of standards and make appropriate adjustments to support the updated references.
No new features will be added by this project.
